08 Aug ARE GRAINS NEGATIVELY AFFECTING YOUR HEALTH?
If years ago, someone would have told me that I would be living on a paleo, grain free diet, I would have said, “You’re crazy.”
I had been a vegetarian since I was a teen and grains were a staple in my diet.
Back then, I had no idea that grains, especially gluten, were causing me major inflammation and auto-immune issues.
And not only was the gluten affecting me, but when my middle child was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease, I learned that it was affecting her as well.
One of the major problems with grain is that we are over consuming it. If I told you to eat eggs for breakfast, an omelette for lunch, and a Soufflé for dinner, you may think, “Hey, that’s way too many eggs.”
But, we don’t think twice when we have toast for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and a roll or pasta with dinner.
The bottom line is that inflammation is the root cause of many illnesses and grains are a big cause of inflammation due to over consumption.
Getting rid of grain was a bit of an adjustment, but it was well worth it for my whole family.
